Laser Cladding

With our welding repair technique - laser cladding, we are able to solve cases, where normal welding is not allowed or the extent of the repair is best solved with laser cladding.

Using Laser Cladding you extend the product's life cycle

The advantages with laser cladding are plenty:

•    We can weld on high-carbon steel
•    The welding requires no heat treatment afterward
•    The repair is fast and cost-effective
•    The repair can be carried out on-site
•    Laser Cladding is an environmentally friendly repair solution

We have full class approval to use laser cladding on various materials:

  • Stainless-steel
  • Carbon Steel
  • Bronze
  • Cast iron

100% attachment to base material

The laser cladding is carried out with all sorts of welding powder such as inconel 625, stelite 21 and bronze etc.  The technique guarantees  a 100 % attachment of the filler material to the base material. The laser cladding process is carried out with a numerically controlled robot  giving us many geometric opportunities

Malfunctions and causalities often cause damage to vital ship parts. At MarineShaft, several couplings, chrome liners, blade carriers, propeller shafts etc. have been repaired using laser cladding.

Laser cladding can easily restore parts with wear and other damages. Eg. valve seats, bearing journals on the propeller shaft, chrome liners, blade carriers, propeller hub, etc.

MarineShaft offers laser cladding of:

• Propeller shafts

• Propeller equipment/components

• Stabilizer fins

• Gear component

• Thruster components

• Engine parts

• Components for the wind turbine industry

• Industrial components
